The Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix Festival 2016 was held in the Gulf of Mexico from New Pass at the north end to Big Pass at the south end of the course. Every year more spectators add to the tens of thousands in attendance and you must arrive earlier to get parking near Lido Beach to watch. Of course, spectacular views can be had by boat alongside the race course in the Gulf of Mexico. The course is just a short 30 minute boat ride from Venice, Florida. The week long events culminated in the big race on Sunday, July 3, 2016.
