In Venice Florida, some still view the fireworks in the traditional way, but the majority enjoy it either from the beach with their toes in the sand or from the deck of a boat. The July 4th fireworks, celebrating the nations Independence Day, are launched from the South Venice Jetties. This makes the ideal viewing locations to be the beach at the South Jetty, North Jetty, and the water. Some boaters chose the less congested Gulf of Mexico to view from while the majority opted for the more celebratory and crowed shallows around Snake Island (just a nick name-no snakes).
